The Appalachian School of Law was honored to host an enlightening presentation by The Appalachian Research and Defense Fund of Kentucky, Inc., known as “AppalReD Legal Aid,” on Friday, March 22 during Professor Gallagher’s BPI class.
AppalReD Legal Aid, a distinguished private non-profit law firm, is dedicated to addressing critical legal issues affecting individuals’ basic needs, such as food, shelter, personal safety from abuse, and the well-being of children and the elderly. Their team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal secretaries specialize in housing law, consumer law, family law, domestic violence, and public benefits to provide comprehensive legal support.
We were privileged to hear from our esteemed speakers at the event:
AppalReD offers free civil legal help to eligible low-income people in 37 counties of the Appalachian Mountains and rolling hills of eastern and south-central Kentucky, a region home to more than 220,000 people living in poverty. Their dedication reflects a true spirit of advocacy and support for individuals facing challenging circumstances.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to AppalReD Legal Aid for sharing their expertise with us. The event was a valuable and empowering experience, emphasizing the essential role of legal advocacy in ensuring justice and protection for all individuals in our community.
We appreciate the participation and contributions of all attendees to this enriching event! View more about this organization at https://www.ardfky.org
