Today, two bright Appalachian School of Law students, Tyler Starnes 3L and Meredith Waugh 3L, travel to New York City to compete in the 2024 Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition hosted by Pace University.
This competition has been held annually since 1989 and is the premier Moot Court competition for Environmental Law. This year’s issue deals with approving and constructing a new interstate natural gas pipeline. Starnes and Waugh will be arguing together, and are coached by Professor. Mark “Buzz” Belleville and Professor Courtney Zyeda Cole.
Fifty-five teams of 2-3 participants from across the United States will provide strong competition.
Starnes and Waugh will compete in preliminary rounds on Thursday, 2/22, and Friday, 2/23. Elimination rounds will happen on Friday, 2/23, and Saturday, 2/24.
Please join us in wishing them luck! You have already made ASL proud!
