Near the conclusion of the fall semester, students in the Appellate Advocacy Courses took part in an intraschool Moot Court Competition. Students had the option of arguing a Criminal Law issue or an Environmental Law issue. Over three days, these students participated in preliminary rounds judged by ASL faculty. The top eight finishers were then chosen to argue in front of an esteemed panel of Judges during a final round.
The final round was judged by:
Hon. (Ret.) Larry G. Elder, Virginia Court of Appeals
Hon. Pamela M. Sargent, United States Magistrate Judge, Western District of Virginia
Hon. Brian K. Patton, 29th Judicial Circuit
Hon. Jack S. Hurley, Jr., 29th Judicial Circuit
